Stood Chatting in the supermarket aisle…

Marie You don’t need a churner or a machine

Nina To make ice cream?  I think you do.  How else?

Marie Whisk and freeze.

Nina Like this place there’s been no heating here for months.

Marie Supermarket looks empty these days.

Nina There’s a lull

Marie 6 weeks ago it was full

Nina It’s quiet now but wait till later  It’s the calm before the storm

Marie They may have a surprise.  Everyones at home.

Nina Well what do you want when it’s sleeting outside?

Marie It’s not sleet it’s rain

Nina It’s snowing in Colorado and it’s Easter

Marie There a store manager and she always comes and chats  She says she doesn’t want snow.

Nina Wait till it’s 3 foot. Then she’ll know.

Marie I doubt it. She is as big as me or even bigger.

Nina She just tells you what to do and looks like a boss

Marie I don’t change for anyone. Whatever’s wrong with that?

Nina I feel sorry for her now her husband’s come out of his shell

Marie Sometimes you have to take step back.

Nina That’s ageist

Marie It’s true.

Nina I heard her kid ask Mum why didn’t you have another child

Marie You need two to make a baby

Nina She’s got empty space.

Marie Is there enough room?

Nina It’s the same as she had before.  And I think she should fill it with something useful

Marie Doctors said to wait

Nina Then it’ll be too late

Marie She’s always been wanting something more

Nina Snow would melt on her she is hot.

Marie Your too warm stood there with all your no churn ice cream ingredients

Nina I can’t wait to make it.

Marie Where she is is good.

Nina She won’t take to being single.

Marie She is 16.

Nina I don’t actually see that matters though.

Marie Not these days.  She knows what she wants.  A big tub of easy whisk ice cream with one spoon.  Here I’ll take those ingredients too.

 

Easy no churn ice-cream

• ½ a 397g can sweetened condensed milk
• 600ml pot double cream
• 1 tsp vanilla extractPut condensed milk, cream and vanilla into a bowl. Beat with an electric whisk until thick and quite stiff. Scoop into a freezer container or a large loaf tin.  Cover this with cling film and freeze until solid.
